HOME 2009 Copeland Estate Pinot NoirThe 2009 Copeland Estate Pinot Noir is the culmination of 30 years of commitment to excellence and the pursuit of Carneros style and Burgundian elegance. The blocks were personally selected by Gerret and Tatiana Copeland, proprietors of Bouchaine Vineyards, and only two barrels were crafted to reflect the true terroir of the Bouchaine estate property. Bouchaine Vineyards lies on the Southern border of Napa Valley, adjacent to the Napa-Sonoma Marsh State Wildlife Area. We are passionately engaged with sustainability and preserving the local wildlife. In 2005, our vineyards became the first to attain the Fish Friendly Farming certification. 2009 proved to be a fantastic harvest year for this estate wine. The cool summer gave way to September heat that quickly ripened the vines, producing bright and well-defined Pinot Noir intensity. Marked by a third year of drought conditions, the prudent watering from our partially filled ponds allowed for full fruit development, while limiting crop yield. It was a one-in-ten harvest year. This limited-release 2009 Copeland Estate Pinot Noir is handcrafted from a selection of the most dramatic vineyard blocks to yield the most expressive wine possible.
