A Vertical of Bouchaine Gee Vineyard Pinot Noir  Three bottle set, including library selections from the 2002 and 2004 vintages!

A Rare and Unique Offering: Library Vertical of Gee Vineyard Pinot Noir.

For Bouchaine winemaker Michael Richmond and owners Gerret and Tatiana Copeland, a single-vineyard wine of unsurpassed quality can be a fleeting, momentary idea. It takes the idea that “excellent wine is made in the vineyard” to a whole new level. Why so? If mother nature decides on a rain-drenched season or bring cold spells that severely affects the lowest lying areas of the vineyard (where frigid air hovers and damages fruit), the commitment to a single-vineyard wine means that the winemaker is limited to only fruit from that specific vineyard—no dipping into other fruit to enhance the wine. Single-vineyard wines, in our opinion, should showcase only the very best vintages and offerings.

Our Gee Vineyard Pinot Noir illustrates this ideal: the 16-acre vineyard sits in a gentle rise, across the road from Bouchaine’s winery building, and being a dry-farmed vineyard, it is even more susceptible to the whims of mother nature, though the rewards can be spine-tingling brilliant: dramatic and layered flavors of berries, warm spices, coffee nibs, smoke and leather. We have chosen to skip vintages when we didn’t feel that the Gee fruit deserved its own single-vineyard bottling that year.

We are offering an EXTREMELY LIMITED and EXCLUSIVE LIBRARY VERTICAL of Gee Vineyard wines, from the 2002, 2004, and 2006 vintages. The 2002 and 2004 were sold out eons ago, so we’ve dipped into our library to put together a precious few verticals for this special offering.

Set includes three bottles of Bouchaine Gee Vineyard Pinot Noir (food for illustration purposes only).
