2011 Bouchaine Las Brisas Vineyard Riesling  

This may be our most compelling Riesling to date.  Very low alcohol and refreshing acidity make our mouths water.  Palest gold in the glass, it beckons with tantalizing citrus blossom white flower aromas.  Add a whisper of tropical fruit underneath.  As the wine unfolds, one imagines the classic petrol nuance framed by intensifying sweet ruby red grapefruit essence.  The small sweetness enables the wine to carry the vintage's noteworthy acidity and lift the fragrance.  Pair it with aged Gouda, sharp Cheddar, an Asian pear and a dash of jalapeno jelly.
