2014 Bouchaine Estate Swan Pinot Noir
The origin of the Swan clone is clouded in mystery; some think it came from the Romanee-Conti vineyards. It was brought to the United States by Joseph Swan and originally planted in the Russian River Valley. This wine is a blend of heritage blocks off of our estate, and the fruit favors perfume, purity, and charm rather than powerful structure.
The nose opens with lovely raspberry, wild strawberry, fresh snap pea and herbs with a touch of cinnamon. A zippy entry leads to a red fruit-driven palate that is both elegant and complex. This wine awakens your palate and beckons for a food pairing. Try with herb encrusted pork loin or prosciutto wrapped halibut.
