Pinot Gris is a mutation of Pinot Noir. The skins have a dark magenta cast to them. And with that little bit of skin color comes a little bit of skin tannin, which is expressed in what's called "grip" in the finish. Pinot Gris has become quite fashionable of late, especially under it's Italian name, Pinot Grigio. Of all our white wines this is the most savory and refreshing. A sip is reminiscent of lemon thyme. That citrusy nature makes it the perfect Indian summer white wine.
