Bouchaine's Rockin' H Rodeo Roundup BBQ

 


Howdy Y’all

 

It’s time to dust off your rodeo gear and pull up your britches for Bouchaine’s Rockin’ H Rodeo Roundup BBQ on Sunday, August 8, 2010.  We plan to make hay while the sun shines!

 

Come on down and stomp it out to live music and fun games for all; the range boss will be taking y’all on hay rides and the wrangler will be giving ropin’ demos that will fiddle your fancy. Maverick’s will be bringing the chuck wagon and barbequing up a mighty fine feast of smoked chicken, smoked brisket, and some good ol’ pulled pork.

 

Club Members will need to pony up $40 a head and will be able to get one other buckaroo in at that same price; All non-members will have to fork over $50 a head.   

 

This hoedown starts at 1:00PM and will be at the Rockin’ H Ranch in the town of Petaluma: 6614 Lakeville Road, Petaluma CA.

 

Now don’t squat with yer spurs on when you hear about the one time Shotgun Sale (only available at the event)!  $50 for a six pack of Gewurztraminer ($8.53/bottle); $70 for a six pack of Rosé of Syrah ($11.53/bottle); or a three year flight of Pinot Noir (’05, ’06, ’07) for $70.  Y’all be all over it like a chicken on a June bug!

Festival del Sole Napa Valley 2010!

Please join us in welcoming back the fifth annual Festival del Sole-Napa Valley classical music extravaganza, July 16-25, 2010. Celebrate with music, fine wine and cuisine, and art will be showcased at wineries, estates and concert halls in Napa Valley. Concerts will feature world renowned stars, including Joshua Bell, Chris Botti, Kelley O'Connor, Nina Kotova, Conrad Tao, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Carlo Ponti, Jr, the Russian National Orchestra, and more.  Bouchaine is pleased to be one of two official sponsors of the Festival del Sole and the exclusive sponsor of the the Bouchaine Young Artist Series, featuring extraordinary young talents performing at three FREE daytime concerts at various venues (please see below for specific venues; not at Bouchaine).

Your free admission is first come, first serve, no tickets required. Well-behaved children are welcome!

 


Bouchaine Luau Photos and Mahalo!

We would like to thank all the Bouchaine Bacchus Club members who braved the 30+ mph wind gusts and chilly temperature at our Club Luau on Saturday, 5/22/10! Only in Northern California can one attend a luau complete with leis and aloha shirts as well as wool sweaters and feece jackets! We are so glad to hear that everyone enjoyed the wine and food, the musical and hula performances, and of course, the company of dear friends.

Also, we want to thank Island Style Catering for the yummy food, the magnificent Faith Ako (http://www.faithako.com) who performed Hawaiian/Polynesian music beautifully, the lovely hula dancers Linda Low and Maranda Thompson from Halau Na Pua O Ka Laakea Hula School of Marin/Sonoma County (http://www.hulaon.org) and last but certainly not least, our own fabulous Bacchus Club/Tasting Room/Hospitality Team (Dee, Susan, Shantelle, Luke, and Lisa) for their amazing efforts to make this event one that our club members will remember fondly!

Bacchus Club Luau on Saturday May 22, 2010

JOIN US FOR OUR MAY 2010 PICKUP LUAU FEAST!
(or as Winemaker Mike Richmond calls it, our "Lu-Wow!"

Join us for an afternoon of fun, food, friends, wine, dance and song! Sip on our new releases while enjoying a catered Hawaiian luau, complete with Hawaiian music and hula dancers! We welcome you to grab your grass skirt, your favorite aloha shirt, and sway to island rhythms!

Hula dancers will "lei you" upon arrival and perform rhythmic Hawaiian dances!

Have your photo taken in grass skirt/coconut bra costume on the back of Bouchaine's restored 1954 green Chevy, complete with surfboard!

Napa's favorite chef, Jeff Jake, formerly executive chef at The Carneros Inn, The Lodge at Pebble Beach, and Sonoma Mission Inn, has presented two recipes that will work beautifully with our two wine releases: sample Curried Waldorf & Roast Chicken Salad Open Face Sandwich with 2009 Bacchus Collection Riesling, and Grilled Wild Salmon with Fennel, Pancetta, and Horseradish Salad with 2008 Bacchus Collection Pinot Meunier.

Island Style Catering and Luau Master Michael Phillips will be preparing traditional whole Kalua Pig roasted in an underground oven (it will have to be roasted off-site, to keep evil ground spirits away from Bouchaine!).

Hawaiian favorites menu:

  • Mac(aroni) Salad; Garden Salad; Tropical Fruit Salad
  • Prawn Cocktail with Assorted Island Sauces; Sweet & Sour Ginger Meatballs; and Ahi Poke
  • Roasted Kalua Pig, Grilled Sesame Chicken, Grilled Teriyaki Beef, and Fresh Grilled Mahi Mahi Fillet
  • Coconut Macadamia Chocolate Cake
  • Paired with our new releases: 2009 Riesling and 2008 Pinot Meunier (and we'll also be pouring our very limited production 2008 Muscat Blanc!)

Admission Cost: $60/person

Bouchaine Bacchus Club member of record and his/her first guest receive our preferred admission of $45/person.

Guests of current club members who join Bouchaine Bacchus Club at the Luau will receive the $45 preferred admission cost (membership begins immediately and new members will be charged for the May wines).

This is a catered event and advance reservations are absolutely required.
Please RSVP by Friday, May 14 to Susan Falcon (sfalcon@bouchaine.com) or Dee Ferris (dferris@bouchaine.com). Regrettably we will not be able to accomodate walk-ins without advance reservations. Cancellations must be received by Wednesday, May 20 (we will charge for no-shows and for reservations not cancelled after this date).

Bouchaine Bacchus Club March 2010 Shipment & Open House

The hills and valleys look like they have been kissed by sunshine, with such glorious mustard flowers all around!  We are all excited for the arrival of spring and the first Bacchus Club release of the year.

The Bacchus Club March 2010 Shipment will include:

2008 Pinot Gris, Carneros and
2007 Estate Pinot Noir, Napa Valley-Carneros

The shipment will be going out starting March 8, 2010.

PLEASE make sure I have your current address and payment information.

If you are going to be in the Napa area on either

Saturday, March 13 or Sunday, March 14

we will be hosting an open house between 12pm and 3pm

 

This will be a casual tasting featuring the March club wines. As always, these wines will make their debut at this event for Bacchus Club members.

We will have some goodies that will enhance the character of these wines.

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED 

Members are welcome to bring up to 3 guests for a complimentary tasting. Any additional guests will be $15 per person.

Please RSVP to Ruthie McRonald or Susan Falcon by March 5, 2010. If you normally have your wines shipped to you but will be in the area on those days, please let me know so that we do not ship your wines.

Bacchus Club Open House November 2009

Our Bacchus Club Open House is coming up this weekend, November 20-21, 2009, from 12 noon to 3pm! We'll have tastings of our award-winning butternut squash soup, along with cranberry chutney baked brie, and our lastest release wines: 2008 Anderson Valley Gewurztraminer & 2007 Sonoma Coast Rockin' H Vineyard Pinot Noir. This is a private event for our club members (limit 4 attendees per membership). PLEASE NOTE: we are not participating in Holiday in Carneros this weekend.
